Hugh’s Room, Massey Hall -Carnegie Hall project, OH, NC, and beyond…

Hello friends!  We are taking part in some very fun shows this week and beyond!

First off, tomorrow, Wednesday May 23, We (Sultans of String) are part of a Bob Dylan song night at Toronto’s Hugh’s Room Live, celebrating Dylan’s birthday and also excited that the club just celebrated it’s 1 year anniversary of re-opening.  Featuring Paul James, Sultans of String with Anwar Khurshid, Michelle Rumball, Kyp Harness, Sue & Dwight, Melanie Peterson and host Rob Bowman and many more!   Each of this evening’s performers will bring a unique interpretation of well-known and lesser-known works of Dylan. On the occasion of Bob Dylan’s 78th birthday, just a couple of years after the songwriter won the Nobel Prize for literature for the first time, when Dylan’s non-stop touring and never ending creativity continues to impress and confound, don’t think twice, join us!

Then on Saturday May 26, I (Chris McKhool – violinist with Sultans of String) am performing at Massey Hall as part of a special outreach program developed with Carnegie Hall. The Lullaby Project pairs mothers with songwriters to write a personalized lullaby for their child. This spring, six young mothers from Jessie’s – The June Callwood Centre for Young Women worked with artists to create lullabies that encapsulate their personal experiences with motherhood, with lyrics and melodies full of raw emotion, vulnerability, and love.   I received the invitation to contribute to two songs and cannot wait to perform them on Saturday. And they gave me up to 5 pairs of tickets to gift to those interested. The first 5 people who email me will receive the tickets. Please make sure you are clear to attend before you hit ‘send’!

And then Sultans of String are off on a Duo tour of Cleveland, where we will be raising money for the Outreach Project supporting displaced children and families within Syria,

and various venues around North Carolina, details at https://sultansofstring.com/calendar/
