CFMA nomination, tiff, new videos for adults and kids

Hello friends! It has been a while since our latest missive, welcome to new subscribers :)  Below, in no particular order, are a few items. Many thanks for reading!

It was pretty exciting to attend the premiere of Hotel Mumbai at tiff, where we had our first major film placement with our song Snake Charmer, starring Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire). You can check out our trippy 60’s influenced band video here.

I have just launched a new youtube channel for kids/families and will be adding content as we go…  check out this totally fun VIDEO telling you everything you ever wanted to know about Mandolins, but were too afraid to ask!

John “Beetle” Bailey and I found out a couple days ago that we are nominated in the CFMAs for Producer of the Year for our Christmas Caravan album. It was a real treat to be able to work with such an incredible lineup of special guests including Nikki Yanofsky, Richard Bona, Ruben Blades, Rebecca Campbell, Prague Philharmonic, the list goes on… If you have not had a chance to hear it yet, here is a link.

And believe it or not, we are already in rehearsals for our Christmas Caravan tour that starts in November. This is our biggest tour in the history of the band, thanks to the amazing coverage last season in the NY Times, and Billboard Music charts. We will be joined at some shows with very special guests including Rebecca Campbell, Amanda Martinez, Donné Roberts, and Ken Whiteley. Sultans of String are partnering to help raise funds with UNHCR, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Canada, on this tour.
