Hi all! We are ever grateful for ears and eyes on the Internet while we are still not able to play in person for you. The music does live on! And we are pretty stoked about a few things happening, so here we are. I truly hope you are all well and staying safe.
Lots of love, Chris
JUNO Award nominee and MASC artist Chris McKhool, along with his educator wife and daughter, came up with an idea: a free Kids Halloween Zoom Party on Saturday October 31 at 6:00 PM EST, where children can show off their costumes, sing some songs, and have a dance party with other children… virtually!
Reserve your free tickets here: https://sidedooraccess.com/shows/OpBNeLGNHbk8E6bUVVVw
This will be on ZOOM so we can all celebrate together! Tickets are FREE but you need to reserve them so we can create a safe moderated ZOOM ROOM to party in! Feel free to log in early to get set up and hang out.
We are so excited about this show tomorrow, when 3x Canadian Folk Music Award winners and Billboard charting Sultans of String are serve up their 2nd ever Interactive Zoom concert.
Folks can tune in on Sat. Oct 24 at 7:00pm EDT / 4:00 PST
Reserve your free tickets here: $10 — https://yallayalla.eventbrite.ca
This is our YALLA YALLA! CD EDITION where we will play all the songs from our second JUNO Award nominated album, created in 2009! We will be joined on our song Al Vuelo with spectacular flamenco dancer Tamar Ilana!
This is over ZOOM, which is awesome because we will be able to see and hear you, and you can see and hear us, and you can all see each other as well! It is a real show! So pour yourself a quarantini, and get ready to clap and dance along with our music! Or sit back and relax… Whatever you like!
We have kept the ticket price very low as we know that a lot of our friends are out of work. If that is still a barrier for you then just shoot me an email at email@example.com and I will provide you a comp, no questions asked, while tickets remain.
Here I am speaking to FYI NEWS Bill King about the show and life https://www.fyimusicnews.ca/articles/2020/10/22/conversation-sultans-strings-chris-mckhool
Very excited that two of the songs off our new Sultans of String REFUGE album have won songwriting awards with Folk Music Ontario’s Songs of the Heart!
I wrote the title track, “Refuge” in the Instrumental category, which you can watch/listen to here
And also in the Political category, along with bandmates Kevin Laliberté, Drew Birston, Rosendo ‘Chendy’ Leon & Ifrah Mansour, with “I am a Refugee”, which now has over 100,000 views on YouTube! You can watch it here
