Tuesday: Live Sultans album launch, Thursday: Live NAC concert for kids

Hello friends,

First off, it cannot be said enough: A million thanks to all the front line workers keeping us safe and keeping the world moving in this unprecedented crisis. To all of you working right now, we are so grateful to you!

It was so heartbreaking for us in Sultans of String when we had to postpone our spring and summer concerts launching our new album Refuge. But the most important thing right now is that all of us keep safe. Please check out these two online events this week!

TUESDAY at 2:00 pm EST – SULTANS OF STRING

Join the stream at https://www.facebook.com/cdnmusician

So in that spirit we will celebrate in a different way on Tuesday! Join Sultans of String’s violinist and producer Chris McKhool and Canadian Musician Editor-in-Chief Andrew King for the Refuge Online Album Launch, going live from Canadian Musician’s Facebook Page.

You’ll hear songs from the album with video from the recording sessions, and get the inside story on the making of the record, and a lot more!

THURSDAY at 11:00 AM EST – MCKHOOL & THE GANG

Join the stream at https://www.facebook.com/ChrisMcKhoolKidsMusic

Chris McKhool is hailed as a “Children’s musical star” (National Post) and “Canada’s greatest eco-troubadour for young people” (Mississauga Living Arts Centre). Chris has been delighting audiences with infectious songs and world instruments for over two decades, reaching over 1 million children live in concert. All of Chris’ shows feature original songs from his appearances on Mr. Dressup, YTV’s Treehouse, TVOntario’s Crawlspace and live CBC TV.

Chris, along with his educator wife Catherine (and daughter working the puppets) share a folksy, fun, educational Interactive Live Stream for kids and families at home that includes songs, stories and jokes.
Many thanks to National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts, Facebook, Slaight Music, RBC Foundation, and SiriusXM, as well as Prologue to the Performing Arts, MASC, and Pied Piper Kidshows

SIGNS OF SPRING

Yes there is spring!  Aside from the occasional May snowstorm, there is something so perfect, so beautiful and miraculous about seeing these signs of new life, and new hope. Sharing with you a photo of what is happening right now in our backyard. Please take care of each other, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon  :)
