What I am thankful for…

As many of our friends and family in the US celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend, I think about what I am thankful for.

My family and friends are healthy and safe. Vaccines are looking very hopeful now, and are coming. We live in a society that is constantly evolving and, over time, is becoming more egalitarian, more thoughtful, more compassionate.

And at a time when many people are fighting for their sanity and survival, I am also very thankful to you, our fans and friends, that continue to follow our artistic journey, which is an incredible support. Music has always been a way for me to cope with what I find at times to be a strange and unfamiliar world. It has been my ticket to travel around the globe, to share incredible moments with those from different backgrounds and cultures, and to communicate ideas I care about.

And we will be doing just that tomorrow. We will be showcasing some exceptional collaborators on a project of love I created with my bandmates from Sultans of String. We will be celebrating our recording called ‘Refuge’, with Ifrah Mansour, Robi Botos, Tamar Ilana, Donné Roberts, Amir Amiri, Dr. Duke Redbird, Ahmed Moneka, Selcuk Suna, and regular band members Kevin Laliberté, Drew Birston, and Rosendo Chendy Leon, all zooming to you from their own homes.

If you can, please join us.  You may think I am a little nuts for trying to include this many virtual guests into a one hour show, but that’s how I roll!  And honestly it is musical projects like this that are keeping me sane during these difficult times…

Sultans of String ZOOM Concert #3 – Refuge Edition
Livestream Celebration of the Refuge CD/Project
TICKETS: https://refuge2020.eventbrite.ca

We will have live performances, guest appearances, spoken word, conversation and video exclusives with our guests, over ZOOM, which is awesome because we will be able to see and hear you, and you can see and hear us, and you can all see each other as well. It is a real show!

Link becomes live at 7:30 pm to get settled and chat with our friends.

We have kept the ticket price very low as we know that a lot of our friends are out of work. If that is still a barrier for you, just shoot me an email and I will provide you a comp, no questions asked, while tix remain.

$1 from each ticket sold is being donated to the UN Refugee Agency.

Thanks, stay safe, and look forward to seeing you all soon :)

Gratefully yours,

Chris
