.
This multi-artist show is live-streamed in real time, hearing directly from musical guests sharing from their own traditions; Parents’ Choice Award Winner Chris McKhool, Maryem Tollar, Aviva Chernick, Suba Sankaran & Dylan Bell, Silk Road Music, Shannon Thunderbird & Sandy Horne, as well as Kevin and Drew from Sultans of String!
.
Inspired by travels around the world, Chris McKhool and friends celebrate the multicultural mosaic of our country with songs about Bodhi Day (Buddhist), Carnival (Quebec), Chanukah, Chinese New Year, Christmas, Diwali, Kwanzaa (Pan-African), Indigenous Traditions, Ramadan & Eid and Winter Solstice. Celebrate! is a window into many cultures from around the world and provides young audiences with a glimpse into the different customs, celebrations and festivities enjoyed in Canada. Traditional and original songs by Chris encourage us to share with our neighbours and friends and celebrate together!
.
“This is a super exciting concert for us” says band leader McKhool. “It is an amazing opportunity to bring together incredible talent with roots around the globe, and to do some real good here at home. We will be live-streaming from Burlington Ontario, raising funds for the Burlington Food Bank. Not only that, but also supporting the Killarney Turtle Mountain Arts Council that supports arts snd culture in their region in Manitoba. So this is becoming a real cross-Canada initiative!”
.
“Many have tried but none have come as close to capturing what it means to truly celebrate multiculturalism as Chris McKhool. The Toronto singer-songwriter epitomizes what many Canadians have come to love about this country.”
– Deanne Fisher, City Parent
