Tomorrow, Friday, June 24 at noon EST, we’re looking forward to BACKSTAGE – Sultans of String feat. Waleed Abdulhamid – the free interview and music series based on our Sanctuary and Refuge Projects.
This instalment features multi-instrumentalist Waleed Abdulhamid.
Waleed has been an active member of the Toronto music scene since his arrival from Sudan in 1992. He is the recipient of the Canadian New Pioneer Award, African Tama Award, Reel World Film Festival Award, Canadian Film Board of Excellence Award, DORA Award, and has played and recorded with David Clayton Thomas of the Grammy Award-winning band Blood, Sweat & Tears and with the Motown legend, The Drifters.
