We are still flying high from our award wins last week at Folk Music Ontario and Markham!

From our co-writer Juan Carlos: “The lyrics of this song is a reflection of my experience as a refugee in Canada and the story of many Colombians. Thank you to my good friend Wilman Jose Cogollo Cantillo for helping to write these lyrics which express the story of my life. Thank you to Sultans of String for inviting me to channel my voice and the voices of many immigrants through music. I acknowledge this land for the tremendous opportunity it’s given me to change the story of my life for good. Today I’m an a musician and educator who is giving back to my community and I strive to be a positive representation for people that look like me and have similar stories. I love this place and the people that live in it. Thank you”
