Massey Hall, Christmas Shows, Awards

Hello friends, a few items here as we head into the holiday :)

1- Massey Hall

I got to cross another item off my bucket list, I got to play violin at Massey Hall last night with The Good Lovelies! (For our American friends, that is like our Carnegie Hall here in Toronto!). What a spectacular concert venue after their multi-million dollar renovation, and The Good Lovelies were so much fun to work with! Go see them them if you get the chance.

2- Last week of Christmas Caravan across Ontario!

We have so many fun special guests joining us on different Christmas Caravan shows including Rebecca Campbell, Marito Marques, Shannon Thunderbird, Saskia Tomkins, Donné Roberts, Kellylee Evans, Lynne Hanson, Kristine St-Pierre, Eric Breton, the usual suspects Kevin and Drew! This is the last bunch of Ontario shows before we head to Manitoba in January!

3- Dr. Duke Redbird Lifetime Achievement Award

Well this is super awesome and exciting and kind of embarrassing (!), because I don’t feel old enough to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from JAYU, the Canadian charity that shares human rights stories through the arts! There is so much more I am so excited to accomplish and share, but nevertheless here we are! This award means more to me than any award I have ever won, because I was nominated for this by Duke Redbird. I feel so fortunate to be able to learn from Duke’s wisdom and to count him as a friend. He has been an incredible inspiration to me, and his belief in my work continues to inspire and propel me forward.
